  What would happen to a JW for celebrating Christmas?

  You could celebrate Xmas in kind of a low key "not known" kind of way.

  ie) not putting up a tree or decorations

  But just roasting a turkey. Lots of fine baking,, small gifts & have a few non jw relatives or just friends over.

  the last assembly i attended was over 10 years ago.

  the monotone speakers, boring talks, uncomfortable seats, long prayers and nodding off after the lunch break did me in.

  i survived the morning sessions, but the afternoon sessions were brutal.

  Its the same illusion they have with their ""perceived choice of worship" they have.

  Its not a choice they have. Once they stop doing what they're ""told" to do,,,they're treated an entire different way.

  The cult(Borg) puts itself in between members & their families.

  By,,,shipping people off to far away lands instead of caring for elderly parents .

  The shunning policy

  & by scrubbing holidays & birthdays which forge family bonds

  Because they cant have too much attention & focus on families instead of the Borg.

  What Rutherford instituted in his tenure works for the Borg.

  Celebrating any holiday takes away focus from the Borg.

  It works to this day.

  Same applies for birthdays,,mothers & fathers days.

  Just think of the focus the Borg would lose by shifting focus away from ""them" to allll those birthdays. Also mothers & fathers days. Not to mention statutory holidays.

  It works for the Borg. Why would they want to change it now? It takes focus away from them.

  And,,,$$$$$,, money too.

  i'm unclear on how this has been achieved or if permissions have been given.

  presumably, audible (part of amazon) have their own procedures to ensure legality, but here it is nonetheless;.

  the watchtower conflates two different groups into one fictional church-age group that according to the watchtower, are saved by works and faith/membership in the jehovah witness organization.

  according to watchtower, only the now mostly dead 144k receive the promises of god regarding justification .

  everbody else missed the boat and must work for their justification for a thousand years.
